This painting shows Mariquita, the last surviving 19 Metre racing in the Classic Regatta in Cowes 2008, looking aft at the two smaller 15 Metres. The Lady Ann and Tuiga. Two of the last remaining 15 Metres, both designed by William Fife. Tuiga was originally built for the Duke of Medinacelli as an ‘identical sistership to his friend the King of Spain’s Hispania. On the helm is the owner then and next to him in white is the skipper. The artist was very fortunate to have been invited to sail with them as part of the crew for the day.
