This painting depicts Eton versus Radley College in the Princess Elizabeth Cup, rowing past Temple Island shortly after the start in the Henley Royal Regatta. Whilst concentrating on painting the detail of the island and the distant background Bill had not noticed there was someone looking over his shoulder and on turning suddenly got an ice-cream in his cheek!
