In 1993 an American patron of Bill’s art, Mark Gibbons, said ; ‘you paint what you want and I’ll buy it!’ So Bill created a major battle scene measuring 30″ x 60″ of the Battle of Quiberon Bay in 1759; bought for £18,000.
